Jie Tang

Jie Tang (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree from the South China University of Technology, China, the M.Sc. degree from the University of Bristol, Bristol, U.K., and the Ph.D. degree from Loughborough University, U.K. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Research Associate with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K. He is currently a Professor with the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, South China University of Technology. His research interests include SWIPT, UAV communications, ISAC, and reconfigurable intelligent surface. He was the recipient of the IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2021 and the Co-Recipient of Best Paper awards at the ICNC 2018, CSPS 2018, WCSP 2019, 6GN 2020, AICON2021, ECIE2024, and ICC2025. He was also the Vice Chair of the Special Interest Group on Green Cellular Networks within the IEEE ComSoc Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee. He is the Editor of IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters and IEEE Systems Journal.
